City of Alexandria to Host 41st Annual Memorial Day Jazz Festival

The City of Alexandria invites the public to the 41st Annual Memorial Day Jazz Festival on Monday, May 28, beginning at 1 p.m. at Waterfront Park (1 A Prince St.). Admission is free.
The Jazz Festival will feature a variety of talented musicians and diverse styles of jazz throughout the day, including:
- 1 p.m. – U.S. Navy Band Commodores (Big Band)
- 2 p.m. – Encantada featuring Julie Mack (Brazilian)
- 3 p.m. – Project Natale (Infused)
- 4 p.m. – The Rick Whitehead Trio (Contemporary)
- 5 p.m. – The Village Jazz Band (Dixieland)
Waterfront Park features lawn seating and attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. Food will be available for purchase. Grilling and alcoholic beverages are prohibited, and pets should be left at home.
Visitors to the historic district are encouraged to bike, walk or take the Metrorail Yellow or Blue lines to the King Street Station and take the free King Street Trolley, or DASH or Metro buses. Bicyclists may visit alexandriava.gov/GOAlex for the City’s Bikeways Map, which features the City’s best on-street and off-road bikeways, as well as locations of bicycle parking. Visit Where to Park in Old Town for a list of garages and parking lots in the historic district.
In case of inclement weather, the festival will be relocated to the Lee Center, Kauffman Auditorium (1108 Jefferson St.).
