No Military Flyover Scheduled for Thursday Night After All, Air Force Says

Editor’s Note (Updated 4;11 p.m., June 25): This story has been updated after the U.S. Air Force informed The Zebra that no military flyover is scheduled for Thursday evening. We regret the error and appreciate the clarification.
ALEXANDRIA, VA – An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that military aircraft would conduct a flyover over Washington, D.C., and Alexandria on Thursday evening.
After publication, at 3:47 p.m., the U.S. Air Force contacted The Zebra to clarify that no military flyover or air show is scheduled for Thursday, June 25.
The confusion stemmed from information surrounding the ongoing America250 and Great American State Fair celebrations on the National Mall, which include military displays and other events throughout the week. While military aircraft have participated in recent ceremonial flyovers and demonstrations in the Washington area, there is no scheduled evening flyover on Thursday.
The Zebra has updated this story to reflect the Air Force’s clarification. We appreciate the U.S. Air Force for reaching out and helping ensure our reporting is accurate.
The Air Force say, “We are not sure where the original information came from as there were never released times, but we are just trying to help correct the record before people go out there are disappointed.”
The note added, “However, there will be more flyovers for the Great American Air Show on 4 July that will get published soon.”

That’s a bunch of BS. They just did have a fly over.
They gave us the runaround on it and would never confirm the flyover times for Thursday–then they flew over anyway.
