newly opened La Esquina de Clarendon,a three-level concept which houses TTT Mexican Diner & Buena Vida Clarendon and is located at 2900 Wilson Blvd., 22201.  Guests are transported to the beach resort town of Acapulco, Mexico. Bright shades of blue, aqua and mauve enrich the open-air space which provides guests with spectacular long-range views of Washington, D.C. from Arlington, Virginia. It’s the perfect place to celebrate summer holidays and to dine under the stars.  This space sports a vivid blue roof that provides solid cover during inclement weather and can be transformed, with the click of a button into an airy trellis in nice weather.  The Social Club has two full bars and ample seating for up to 144 guests across the space.  Around the perimeter, there are 14 built-in booths with pastel cushions and a lounge area with a continuous poured concrete sofa accented with outdoor cushions for comfort.

 

Buena Vida Social is open daily for drinks and dinner, from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m.  A limited brunch menu is served Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.  A DJ  is part of the experience Thursday through Saturday night.  There’s a cooling misting system to ward off the summer heat, and a lounge area that incorporates a hookah experience for guests.

Mixologist Esteban Ordonez’s cocktail menu will feature a combination of tropical and frozen cocktails, as well as low alcohol content beverages.  Buena Vida Social provides a diverse selection of South American spirits highlighting agave and sugar cane concoctions.  A variety of margaritas, mojitos, sangrias, and spritzers are available for guests with standouts including a Classic Margarita with silver tequila, simple syrup, lime juice, and Triple Sec; the Social Margarita with silver tequila, agave syrup, and lime juice; the Classic Mojito with mint leaves, silver rum, simple syrup, lime juice, and club soda; the White Sangria with Sauvignon Blanc, orange, grape, and rum, and the Island Juju Spritz with spiced rum, tamarind, sark simple syrup, lime juice, and club soda.  Buena Vida Social Club showcases a highly approachable list of wines from Mexico.  Ten  traditional and craft Mexican Beer are offered in bottle and draft.

The menu at Buena Vida Social Club showcases traditional, indigenous Mexican fare from Concept Chef Gerardo V?zquez Lugo with an emphasis on casual fare and build-your-own tacos.  The restaurant uses fresh, seasonal ingredients and sustainable and socially responsible cooking methods.  All items are made from scratch including organic corn tortillas from masa made on premises, house-made sauces, and made-to-order salsas.  Standout dishes include Crab Molletes with pickled jalapeno; Carrot Tinga Tostada with black beans and micro coriander; Corn Empanadas with chorizo, bacon, and pico de gallo; Tampico Burrito with rib eye, meneando beans, avocado, and cucumber salad; Beef Tartare Tostadas with allium mayo and smash avocado; Smoked Fish Burger with smash avocado, and Shrimp Tikin Xic with red onion escabeche or tesmole sauce.
