Wednesday, November 1, Assemble Activity Kits for Kids — The Children and Family Network Center needs volunteers to assemble take-home materials for students over the holiday break from 4 to 6 p.m.

Sunday, November 5, Volunteer for the Fall Festival — The Alexandria Fall Fest needs volunteers for to help set-up, assist vendors, guide parking, and staff booths, among other things. Each volunteer will receive 2 extra tickets for free.

Sunday, November 5, Help Promote Dog Adoption — Be a dog handler, talk up dogs to potential owners, and drive them to the event with Lucky Dog Animal Rescue from 11:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Event will be outdoors.

Saturday, November 18, Volunteer with your Family to Create Cards and Gift Tags — Volunteer Alexandria is inviting families to help make this year’s Holiday Sharing program a success, by designing gift tags and cards for toy drive recipients.

Wednesday, November 29, Spanish, Amharic, and Arabic Translators are Needed to Help People Sign-Up for Services — Spanish, Amharic, or Arabic Translators are needed to help residents navigate services for a local resource fair. Translators would help people sign-up for SNAP, Medicare, MetroLift, vaccines, and other programs.

Help Elderly Neighbors During the Winter — Snow Buddies volunteer to help elderly neighbors clear their sidewalk, steps, and driveways of snow and ice during the winter. Volunteers must possess a shovel.

Mentor a Small Group of Girls — The Spitfire Club is seeking individuals who can empower girls, convey a love for reading, and build an inclusive community, to mentor a small group of 4th and 5th grade girls after school.

Student Leaders — VolALX’s Youth Engaged in Service (YES) Program is looking for students, in grades 6-12, to help shape the program. Members will engage peers, share ideas, and provide input for volunteer projects.
