Alexandria Health Department Encourages Travelers to Use Caution
ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Alexandria Health Department (AHD), in a press release this afternoon urged beachgoers and other travelers to use caution as they enjoy the summer.
The coronavirus, and the disease it causes, COVID-19, are still prevalent with new cases reported daily.
In the past several weeks, there have been spikes in cases at popular beach destinations. Outbreaks have been seen in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, among other places.
Community spread is still a problem in the country. AHD warns that interacting with people outside of your household may put you and your loved ones at greater risk for illness.
AHD asks Alexandria residents to consider changing their plans. If you do decide to travel, getting tested upon your return is advised.
