ALEXANDRIA, VA- Earlier today (March 11) in a press release, Alexandria Clerk of Court Greg Park’s announced that a second office will open in the West End. It will be ready for the public March 12, located at the Redella “Del” S. Pepper Community Resource Center (4850 Mark Center Dr.). A ribbon-cutting is planned at 10 a.m. and a public reception will follow.

“I am extremely pleased to be able to open this new branch office in the West End of our city,” Parks said. “It brings critical services to an area where many residents live and work. With free parking at the Del Pepper Center, residents can get what they need from the Clerk’s Office conveniently and quickly without having to go downtown to the Courthouse.”

The new location will be open on Tuesday and Fridays only, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Many of the same services offered at the Courthouse will be available there. These include marriage licenses, notary qualifications, concealed handgun permit applications (and free trigger locks), certified copies of circuit court records, land records research, and payment of court costs and fines.

Court case filings cannot be made at the branch office currently, but that service is expected soon.

In January, The Zebra Interviewed Parks about the improved process to clear local criminal records. Specific circumstances apply. If a person is determined to be eligible, the filing fee of $86 would be completely refunded when his or her record is cleared.
