BREAKING NEWS: Four New Pickup Locations for Alexandria’s Free School Meals

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Starting Monday, March 23, there will be four new pickup locations for Alexandria’s free school meals program, which will eliminate T.C. Williams High School as the main distribution center.

Alexandria City Public Schools started the week serving 5,000 meals on Monday, which was the first day of the COVID-19 classroom suspensions. “This includes meal packets of five days worth of meals,” says Helen Lloyd, Communications Director at ACPS. “We have served more than 10,000 meals this week.”

Going forward, the schools will provide ‘two days worth’ of breakfast and lunch meals free for any ACPS student on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the following locations:

William Ramsay Elementary School

5700 Sanger Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22311

Francis C. Hammond Middle School

4646 Seminary Road, Alexandria, Virginia 22304

Cora Kelly School for Math, Science and Technology

3600 Commonwealth Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22305

Jefferson-Houston PreK-8 IB School

1501 Cameron Street, Alexandria, Virginia 2231

There is NO SIGN UP OR REGISTRATION  REQUIRED TO RECEIVE ALEXANDRIA’S FREE SCHOOL MEALS, which consist of a cold breakfast and lunch, including fresh fruits and vegetables, salads and sandwiches for multiple days per the student’s need.

NOTE: No food distribution will occur on Tuesdays or Thursdays. The limited days for distribution is to support the practice of social distancing and to limit social gatherings.
