Alexandria Restaurants Offering Fun Events and Menu Deals During Tokyo Olympics

ALEXANDRIA, VA-The Tokyo Olympics begin this Friday, July 23 and end Sunday, August 8. Over roughly two weeks while you enjoy the Games, Alexandria restaurants host themed events, and offer special deals and menu items. In an email sent shortly before noon, Visit Alexandria shared the following information:

• The Dog Games at Barkhaus:
  • On Saturday, August 7 from 5 to 8 p.m., head to the DC region’s first dog-friendly bar, restaurant and dog park trio near Potomac Yard for “The Dog Games,” featuring dog competitions, food and drink specials and free dog medals. A portion of the event proceeds will support the Special Olympics.

• “Olympic Donut” from Elizabeth’s Counter:

Check out Elizabeth’s Counter in the Braddock Metro/Parker-Gray neighborhood for the Olympic Donut, a vanilla glazed donut sprinkled with a blend of red, white, blue and gold and silver stars, available in-store starting July 23.

• Olympic Viewing Prix Fixe Menu at Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap:
  • In Del Ray, Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap is serving up an Olympic viewing prix fixe menu in the Beer Garden & Tap Room (which has 5 TV’s), Mondays through Thursdays from July 23 to August 8. Menu offerings include:
    • Bronze = Any 10″ Pizza + Draft Beer or Glass of Lena’s Wine (Rose, Cabernet or Pinot Grigio) for $25
    • Silver = Your choice of White Bean Dip or Spinach & Artichoke Dip + Any 10″ Pizza + Beer or Glass of Lena’s Wine (Rose, Cabernet or Pinot Grigio) for $37
