Alexandria, Va –  Get ready, Old Town—your dessert game is about to level up. Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, the cult-favorite brand known for its bold flavors and clean, simple ingredients, just got the green light to open a brand-new scoop shop at 400 King Street. According to the paperwork filed with the City of Alexandria Department of Planning and Zoning, Van Leeuwen will have 1,030 square feet of space in which to serve customers, with indoor seating for up to 16 guests and open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Born in 2008 out of a single yellow truck in NYC by Ben and Pete Van Leeuwen and Laura O’Neill, Van Leeauwen has grown into a national sensation with 70+ shops—and now, Alexandria is joining the mix.  Van Leeuwen is proud of its commitment to using great ingredients. The website states: “If you can’t pronounce it you probably can’t digest it. That’s why we are obsessed with exactly what goes into our ice cream and what stays out. This is true whether it’s classic ice cream. Or vegan. Or whatever we churn up next.”

From classic scoops to vegan surprises, every bite is crafted to make you feel as good as it tastes.
