ALEXANDRIA,VA-The Dunbar Alexandria Olympic Boys and Girls Club honored the Del Ray Business Association for its service to the community during its annual gala.
“I have personally watched this organization work tirelessly over the years to transform the Del Ray community into a vibrant, desirable place to live and do business,” said Boys and Girls Club board member Kirk Hansen. “What I love about this organization is not only their mission, but their commitment to creating a community in the truest sense of the word ̶ not for some of us, but for all of us. As a part of everything they do, they make sure to give back.”
Hansen cited the local businesses’ participation in Boys & Girls Club fundraisers, and involving the Boys & Girls club members in neighborhood activities, including First Thursdays, Taste of Del Ray, and decorating a Christmas tree on Mt. Vernon Avenue. “They understand that these kids are truly rising stars, and they may become their next employees, the next community business owner, entrepreneur, or a dedicated volunteer working to make this community even better.”
