Alexandria-Dundee Sister Cities Committee Hosts TWO Exciting Events this Weekend (March 10-11)

March 8: Lecture on The Auld Alliance: France and Scotland from Braveheart to Bonnie Prince Charlie
The Lyceum, 201 S. Washington St.
7-9 p.m.

Historian Dr. Jennifer Paxton examines the complex relationship between Scotland, France, and England at the Lyceum on March 8th. From the time of Sir William Wallace (of “Braveheart” fame) through the troubled reign of Mary Queen of Scots, France and Scotland joined forces against England, but then the fall of the Stuart dynasty in 1688 led France to support a Jacobite restoration under Bonnie Prince Charlie. For more information, please visit here.  $10 per person. Reservations recommended
