Alexandria Rec Centers Begin Modified Operations June 20

ALEXANDRIA, VA – On Saturday, June 20, most of Alexandria’s rec centers will open with modified hours and limited access. These changes are in place to follow the second phase of reopening. Senior-only hours will be introduced to help protect vulnerable persons in the community while providing an opportunity for exercise.
Sites operating with changes are the following:
- Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe St.
- Leonard “Chick” Armstrong Recreation Center, 25 W. Reed Ave.
- Mount Vernon Recreation Center, 2701 Commonwealth Ave.
- Patrick Henry Recreation Center, 4653 Taney Ave.
- William Ramsay Recreation Center, 5650 Sanger Ave.

Chinquapin
Beginning Monday, June 22, Chinquapin Park Recreation Center & Aquatics Facility will offer Alexandria residents ticketed entry for racquetball, swimming, and use of the fitness room. People 60 years and older will have access Monday through Friday from 8-10 a.m. people younger than 60 will have access on the same days from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
On Saturdays, ticketed entry for racquetball and fitness room use will be available from 9 a.m. to noon for all ages.
Reservations are required for ticketed entry. Tickets for this Saturday will be available on Thursday, June 18. For the coming weeks and months, tickets will be available each Thursday. Each person is allowed one ticket for any day.

Ford Nature Center
The Jerome “Buddie” Ford Nature Center will remain closed for repairs.
