City Departments Team to Help Uninsured Residents During Pandemic

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Alexandria Health Department and the Department of Human and Community Services (DHCS) have teamed up to help uninsured and underinsured residents during the pandemic. Healthcare services are available to those who need testing and treatment.

Neighborhood Health provides services regardless of ability to pay, accepts most insurance, and will not ask about immigration status. Call 703-535-5568 to make an appointment. For the most immediate updates, click HERE.

Inova Cares Clinic for Families also offers COVID-19 testing, The clinic offers primary care services for patients who are uninsured. People can also receive help if they qualify for Medicaid, the FAMIS program for children or Inova’s Financial Assistance Program. The clinic has four locations: Alexandria, Annandale, Manassas and Sterling locations.

Financial options are available for patients who do not qualify for Medicaid.

DCHS can assist qualified low-income residents to apply for Medicaid. Residents can apply for Medicaid at any time HERE. and for low-cost health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace HERE..
