River Farm Market in Alexandria Draws Crowd

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Heavy rain held off long enough last weekend for the two-day Spring Garden Market at River Farm. The event drew crowds totaling of nearly 3,000 people, according to Susan Friedman, Director of Marketing and Communications for the American Horticultural Society (AHS).

Visitors to this major AHS fundraiser purchased plants, garden accessories, crafts, garden books, and more.

Alpacas added to the fun, and food trucks served attendees . AHS gave tours of historic Manor House.

Joan Barclay, Chief Operating & Financial Officer of AHS, welcomed shoppers to the market.

Friedman credited the event’s success in part to the “time and dedication of 50 amazing volunteers, including 30 from the Planet protects Employee Network Group at MGM Resorts at National Harbor.”

Zebra was a sponsor of the event.
