Red Cross Reports Massive Blood Supply Shortage, Requesting Donors

ALEXANDRIA, VA-The American Red Cross is committed to patient care. That is why they continue to ask for blood donations. Donations can save lives, helping cancer patients, victims of car accidents, and others.

The Red Cross, according to a press release, is reporting a severe shortage and says that all blood types are needed. Those who can donate type O or platelets are encouraged to donate as soon as possible. Make an appointment by clicking HERE.

1,000 donations are needed each day to support hospitals.

There are three opportunities this month in Alexandria to give. Each participant will receive a $10 Amazon Gift Card as a thank-you. See dates and times below.

In most cases, donors potential donors who have received the COVID-19 vaccine can give. However, knowing the manufacturer of the vaccine is important in determining eligibility.
