ALEXANDRIA, VA – A New Year’s Eve tradition since 1994, First Night Alexandria has a bit of a twist this year. The celebration that has drawn thousands to venues around town in previous versions will be transformed into a lively and safe drive-in and virtual concert experience.

Known as the largest family-friendly, budget-friendly and alcohol-free New Year’s Eve event in the region. First Night organizers have had to to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The 2020 program, called “A Night of Nostalgia,” will take place on Thursday, Dec. 31 at 5001 Eisenhower Avenue. Two pre-recorded shows – one at 6:30 p.m. and the other at 9:30 p.m. – will feature music and comedy. For those who prefer to stay home because of health concerns can view the festivities online at the same times.

It will be a night filled with great music, laughs, giveaways, and good food. Food trucks will be on-site to serve patrons.

In-person general admission is $60 per vehicle or $75 for VIP admission, which includes premium parking, early access and additional swag bag goodies. Each show is approximately 2 hours. Virtual concert admission is $20.
