ALEXANDRIA, VA – The holiday season is here! Alexandria’s Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Saturday, Nov. 20 at at 6 p.m. Come to Market Square at 301 King St. to celebrate with your family and neighbors.

The Town Crier will be in attendance, welcoming visitors. Hear festive music, see Mayor Justin Wilson light the tree, and more. Santa Claus is scheduled to make an appearance, riding in on the King St. Trolley.

The event is free and will occur rain or shine.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Alexandria Health Department recommends that masks are worn during outdoor public gatherings where conditions are crowded and close contact cannot be avoided, regardless of vaccination status.

The public is encouraged to take public transit or walk to the event. Visitors to Old Town can take Metrorail’s Blue or Yellow lines to the King Street–Old Town Station, and then take the free King Street Trolley to the event in front of City Hall.
