2022 Senior Law Day – “What I Wish I Knew”

Alexandria, VA – Last month, Senior Services of Alexandria and the Alexandria Bar Association held a very successful in-person Senior Law Day at First Baptist Church in Alexandria. Over 200 residents attended to connect with community resources from the City’s Division of Aging and Adult Services, Health, Recreation, Police, and Sheriff Departments, as well as numerous sponsors representing local elder attorneys, healthcare organizations, real estate companies, assisted living facilities, and AARP.

Steve Gurney, president and founder of the Positive-Aging Sourcebook, kicked off the workshop with inspiring testimonials about what people wish they knew when making later-in-life decisions. He will continue the discussion with SSA on July 29 as part of a Pro-Aging Seminar. Learn more at: www.retirementlivingsourcebook.com/events/what-i-wish-i-knew-live-interactive-panel-discussion.

Three panels of experts discussed the importance of estate planning, navigating Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term healthcare policies, and options for aging in place. If you missed the session and need information, here is the list of presenters with their contact information.
