FHYAA Names Jackson Casey Scholarship Winners

Alexandria, VA – Juliette Fore and Owen Joachim are the 2022 winners of the Jackson Casey Scholarship. They met with the Casey family as well as with Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association leaders to accept their awards which are meant to reflect the life of Jackson Casey and the impact that youth sports has on the development of young adults in the Fort Hunt community.

Fore was in the Class of 2022 at West Potomac High School. She has played basketball, lacrosse, and volleyball with the Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association for over a decade and played varsity lacrosse at West Potomac this spring. She plans to study public policy and global health at Duke University next year.

Joachim was also in the Class of 2022 at West Potomac High School. He has played baseball, basketball, football, and lacrosse with the Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association for over a decade and played varsity football and varsity basketball this past school year. He plans to study business at Penn State University next year.

FHYAA serves the youth of Fort Hunt and the surrounding communities, providing opportunities to experience recreational sports in a positive, safe, supportive environment that encourages teamwork, friendships, and self-confidence.
