Alexandria, VA – Construction of a peaceful haven in the heart of a busy shopping center is underway on Route 1 in the Mount Vernon Plaza Shopping Center. Initially conceived by the Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation, the shopping center’s owners, Federal Realty, liked the concept and original design by SFDC committee member Brad Bartell, a landscape architect, so much that they enlarged its scope and funded the project.
