For November 5, note the following changes to polling places:
- Olympus Condos is temporarily not a voting location due to construction. For the November 5th Election, voters in the Olympus Condos Precinct will vote at 6101 Stevenson Avenue. Affected voters have been notified via mail, but we encourage all West End voters to double check their polling place.
- The former South Port Apartments Precinct will vote at the Tucker School (435 Ferdinand Day Drive.)
- The Masonic Temple Precinct has been relocated to Douglas MacArthur Elementary School (1101 Janney’s Ln.)
- Two new precincts (Del Pepper Center and The View Alexandria) have been brought on-line in the West End. Affected voters have been notified via mail, but we encourage all West End voters to double check their polling place.
3. KNOW WHAT IS ON YOUR BALLOT
In Alexandria, the ballot will include contests for US President and Vice President, US Senate, US House of Representatives, Mayor, City Council, School Board and a proposed Constitutional Amendment. Review the ballots to help you make informed choices at the voting booth. Election officials are not permitted to provide information about candidates, so please conduct research to determine your choices before arriving at the polling place.
4. BRING YOUR ID
Virginia voters will be asked to show identification (ID) prior to voting. Examples of acceptable ID include a Virginia driver’s license, voter confirmation documents, United States passport, employee photo ID or student ID. Review the complete list of acceptable forms of identification at the Virginia Department of Elections website. Most voters who arrive at the polling place without an acceptable ID may sign an ID confirmation statement and vote using a regular ballot.

If you are planning to vote late in the day or after work, please remember that you must be in line at your polling place by 7 p.m. or you will not be able to vote.
6. SAME DAY REGISTRATION
If you missed the end of the normal registration period on October 15, Same Day Registration is available to you. To register and vote on the same day, you must be in the correct locality and at the correct polling location. You will be issued a provisional ballot, and you will cast your vote on this provisional ballot. If you have questions about the Same Day Registration process, please contact us at [email protected] or 703.746.4050.
