Thursday, January 30, 8:45 a.m. to noon, Judge a High School History Competition — Alexandria City High School is seeking volunteers to serve as judges for its National History Day competition, where students present their findings around the theme of “Rights and Responsibilities in History.”

Thursday, January 30, 5:30 to 7 p.m., Attend an Open House for Mentoring — Participate in a game night designed to introduce interested volunteers to mentoring organizations at this interactive Open House, hosted by the Alexandria Mentoring Partnership.

Friday, January 31, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., to Assemble New Easels for Art League — The Art League is looking for volunteers to assemble new easels in their classrooms. No experience necessary.

Wednesday, February 5, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Volunteer for STEAM Night — Patrick Henry is looking for volunteers to help with their annual STEAM night. Volunteers would assist with setup, breakdown, registration, food, and providing directions.

Perform Volunteer Outreach and Communications with Living Legends – research, collect data, build contact list, and design a newsletter for the Living Legends of Alexandria. Volunteers will help reconnect with past Legends living in the city.

Become a Book Buddy — The Alexandria Tutoring Consortium is looking for volunteers to tutor a Kindergartner, 1st grade, or 2nd grade student for up to 45 minutes once or twice a week during the school day.

Be A Club Leader and Mentor for 4-H — Supervise, encourage, and mentor youth as a volunteer with a local 4-H chapter. Volunteers would maintain the club’s schedule, facilitate the curriculum, and engage students.

Become a Foster Parent to a Cat or Dog — Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is looking for volunteers to provide temporary housing until they are adopted. This can be “full-time,” overnight, and weekend.
