Alexandria, VA – The DMV’s love affair with Thai cuisine is growing stronger. Dok Khao Thai, the colorful and flavor-packed concept from The Pattana Restaurant Group, is officially expanding into Alexandria, with plans to open its doors in late 2025 or early 2026.

The new restaurant will occupy a 4,000-square-foot space at 2501 Oakville Street, becoming part of the highly anticipated Oakville Triangle development — a growing hub for dining, shopping, and community experiences.

While an exact opening date hasn’t been announced, signs point to a debut in the near future. The Oakville-specific Dok Khao webpage lists fall 2025, while the brand’s main site projects a 2026 opening. Either way, Alexandria residents won’t have to wait much longer to enjoy one of the region’s most talked-about Thai dining experiences.

The Pattana Restaurant Group has quietly built a culinary empire across the DMV, earning a reputation for consistency, creativity, and cultural authenticity. The group’s Dok Khao Thai Eatery has become a standout favorite, thanks to its promise to deliver “a little slice of Bangkok right in your neighborhood.”

With existing restaurants in Chevy Chase, MD, Columbia, MD, and Woodbridge, VA, and a new West Falls Church location under construction, the Alexandria addition marks another bold step in Dok Khao’s regional expansion.

Flavors Worth the Hype

At Dok Khao Thai, the menu celebrates the vibrant street food culture of Thailand, featuring a mix of classic favorites and modern interpretations. Expect signature dishes like fragrant green and red curries, crispy lemon chicken, Pad Thai, and aromatic fried rice, along with other authentic creations that bring the sights, sounds, and flavors of Bangkok to life.

As Alexandria continues to expand its diverse dining landscape, Dok Khao Thai is poised to become a must-visit destination for both adventurous foodies and comfort-seeking diners alike.
