ALEXANDRIA, VA — This Halloween, a little magic is coming to Lee Street. Psychic tarot reader and healer Aster Soluna will be offering readings in Old Town Alexandria on Saturday, October 31, giving curious visitors an opportunity to explore the mystical world of tarot.

Ever since moving to Alexandria several years ago and deciding to make spirituality his life’s priority, Aster Soluna has found himself in high demand.  He can often be found leading private parties or even at Art in Bloom DC!

A Lifelong Fascination with the Mystical

At the age of 13, Aster received his first tarot deck for his birthday. Since then, he has immersed himself in mythology and esoteric practices, studying not only tarot but also astrology, numerology, ritual leading, Reiki, and even perfumery. He believes that “everything goes back to the spirit of connecting to something bigger than oneself.”

Aster is also co-founder of Three Cups Circle, a monthly online digest for those curious about metaphysics, spirituality, and philosophy. Together with his co-founders, he explores the elements, planets, tarot, and the ways we navigate reality through the lens of spiritual practice and personal stories.

“We share a name [Alexandria] with the famous city where a great library filled with esoteric teachings burned. Perhaps it’s our job to recover that knowledge, recreate that wisdom, and resurrect that magic. That’s why we started Three Cups Circle.”

On November 3, the publication will begin a new series exploring the chakras.

Translating the Language of the Spirit

In a recent interview with VoyageBaltimore, Aster described his unusual profession with a refreshing sense of humor:

“I give Psychic Tarot readings. (I know. You don’t hear that every day! It took me a while to get used to saying that without feeling a little crazy).”

His specialty, he explains, is translation.

“Using multiple tools and perspectives, I translate messages from your physical body, mental field, emotional self, and spiritual guides. Using this information, I can help you lock in to your highest timeline, make a decision, or find alignment and healing within the self or situation.”

Sometimes, he says, that means offering reassurance. Other times, it means helping someone navigate the possibility of a major life transition.

Aster describes his work as helping people reorganize their perspectives, understand their emotions, and recognize possibilities they may not have considered.

“There are many experiences around you, all a half-step away. Think Everything Everywhere All at Once. All of your experiences are in one room at all times.”

He sees himself as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds, helping clients find meaning in the energies and experiences surrounding them.

“I do my best work at the intersection of reality and potential,” he says.

Tarot, Reiki, and the Mind-Body Connection

His readings are holistic, drawing on different disciplines depending on the needs of the client. A session might begin with tarot, shift to astrology to explore questions of timing, or incorporate Reiki when emotions arise.

Aster has also recently launched a new signature offering called Somatic Tarot, blending hypnosis, subtle-body yoga, tarot, and guided meditation. The experience is designed to help participants explore and mend the relationship between mind and body.

He also offers monthly Reiki sound baths at Refresh in Old Town. His next gathering, on November 1 at 7:30 p.m., will celebrate ancestors, an especially fitting theme for the Halloween season.

Making Magic in Alexandria

And what does Aster think of his adopted hometown?

“I jokingly say that Alexandria is home because I used to live in Egypt in another life. The older I get, the more I think that it may be less of a joke than I think.”

“It just seemed like the right place to make magic happen in our world.”

Perhaps there is no better time than Halloween to find out what the cards have to say.

Aster Soluna will be reading tarot on Lee Street in Old Town Alexandria on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Visitors can stop by to witness a little magic in person.

Ashley Greer is a writer, floral designer, and geopolitical analyst whose work explores the intersection of culture, power, perception, and storytelling. She is the owner of Atelier Ashley Flowers, a floral boutique known for immersive, one-of-a-kind floral installations, and the co-founder and creative visionary behind Art in Bloom DC, an annual exhibition pairing floral design with fine art. Raised with a deep connection to nature, Ashley spent her childhood building imaginary worlds outdoors—digging in the dirt, wandering through the woods, and creating spaces of beauty and wonder from the plants and trees around her. That same spirit continues to shape her creative philosophy today. As an artisan florist, she views flowers, foliage, and natural materials as transformative tools capable of creating intimate, emotionally resonant experiences. Each arrangement she designs is intended as a fleeting work of ephemeral fine art—crafted uniquely for the individual receiving it. A graduate of Pomona College, Ashley earned a degree in Art History with a minor in Media Studies in 2006. She spent more than two decades as an entrepreneur, creative director, and floral designer before expanding into journalism, strategic communication, and geopolitical analysis. Ashley is also the founder and editor of MetaFleurs News, a media platform dedicated to exploring the intersection of culture, politics, technology, and power. Drawing on her background in aesthetics, symbolism, media strategy, and visual storytelling, her writing examines political theater, military imagery, information warfare, perception management, and the narratives modern powers use to shape influence. Her reporting and commentary frequently focus on US-China-Taiwan relations, emerging technologies, military visual culture, nuclear energy, quantum science, extraterrestrial life, and the strategic importance of space exploration. At the same time, she has increasingly turned her attention to local journalism, writing feature stories on Alexandria community members, artists, small businesses, charitable initiatives, and cultural events, highlighting the people and moments that shape the character of the city she calls home. Ashley approaches both geopolitical analysis and community storytelling through the same lens: a belief that narrative, symbolism, and human connection shape how people understand the world around them. A mother of a 10-year-old and an active member of the Washington, D.C. spoken word community, Ashley continues to build her portfolio as a freelance writer while expanding MetaFleurs News into a platform for interdisciplinary reporting, cultural analysis, and strategic commentary.
