ALEXANDRIA, VA – You might recognize the building at 710 King Street. It used to be that medieval joint, John Strongbow’s Tavern. There’s still a European feel about the place, one which new owner William Gross plans to embrace when he opens his German and Austrian-themed Village Brauhaus very soon.

According to the Village Brauhaus Facebook page, they are hiring. Jobs for servers and hostesses were posted earlier today.

An Administrative Special Use Permit request for a change of ownership is before the City right now and the paint is dry. Orders for pilsners and bratwurst can’t be far behind.

The restaurant can seat up to 249 patrons and since the premises previously operated with a beer, wine and mixed-liquor license before, it is likely the Brauhaus will have little trouble walking through the process.  The website, www.villagebrauhaus.com promises Great Food, Great Beer, and Great Prices.  Sounds like a perfect match for downtown.
