PUBLIC HEARING: Alexandria Asking for Citizen Participation in Confederate Street Renaming, Thursday, November 30

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Alexandria’s City Council Naming Committee will hold a public hearing on the City of Alexandria’s effort to foster a more inclusive community by renaming City roadways currently named for Confederate figures. Members of the press and public are invited to attend and provide input.

  • WHAT: Confederate Street Renaming Public Hearing.
  • WHEN: Thursday, November 30, 6 p.m.
  • WHERE: City Hall Council Chamber (301 King St., second floor).
  • WHO:
    • Members of the Alexandria City Council Naming Committee
    • Jack Browand, Deputy Director of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities; Staff Liaison, City Council Naming Committee
    • Gretchen Bulova, Director of the Office of Historic Alexandria.
    • Dana Wedeles, Strategic Initiatives Officer, City Manager’s Office.
