Paul Pedroso Takes Oath as Alexandria Police Department’s Interim Chief
ALEXANDRIA, VA=On Friday, Feb.9, Paul Pedroso took the oath to serve the City of Alexandria as its Interim Chief of Police. The oath was administered by Greg Parks, Clerk of Circuit Court.
The announcement on the police department’s X account (formerly Twitter) reads in part: “He is a proven leader who champions community engagement and operational excellence, values core to our department.”
Pedroso replaces former chief Don Hayes, who left the APD after 44 years. He will oversee the law enforcement unit of the Federal Reserve Board, according to a report by WUSA9.
Pedroso previously served as Hayes’ assistant chief, joining the department last fall. He will serve in the interim role while the city conducts a nationwide search for a new chief.
