Cherry on Top: New Coffee & Wine Bar Coming to Alexandria This Fall

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Coffee by day, wine by night: Cherry on Top is set to open later this fall at 1021 Queen Street, offering a cozy hideaway just off the King Street bustle.

Founded by New York transplant Ksenia Varakina, Cherry on Top blends the best of both beverages to create a warm, community-centered space. The 1,062-square-foot café will feature indoor and outdoor seating for up to 40 guests, including a garden patio designed for year-round enjoyment.

“Our vision is to be a hidden gem for locals—a calm spot where people can slow down, connect, and savor good drinks and food,” says Varakina.

The menu will pair craft coffee and curated wines (with non-alcoholic options) alongside crepes, galettes, pastries, and shareable boards of cheeses and charcuterie. Future plans include wine tastings, coffee classes, private events, and rotating exhibits of local artists’ work.

Cherry on Top aims to open by late autumn, bringing Alexandria residents a new go-to spot for both daily rituals and special gatherings.
