ALEXANDRIA, VA – Big news for local healthcare: Woodbine Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, located at 2729 King Street, has earned the Silver – Achievement in Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The honor puts Woodbine in the national spotlight for its excellence in post-hospital care, short-term rehabilitation, and long-term residential services.

The Silver Award is the second step in AHCA/NCAL’s rigorous three-level National Quality Award Program, which challenges organizations to continually raise the bar in leadership, strategic planning, staff engagement, customer care, and operational excellence. Having already secured the Bronze Award, Woodbine is now positioned to pursue the program’s highest honor: the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award.

“This recognition reflects Woodbine’s ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation in senior care,” said Megan Shilling, regional director of market development for Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports the Alexandria facility. “The team is well deserving of this notable achievement.”

A Pattern of Excellence

This is hardly the first time Woodbine has been recognized on the national stage. The center was recently named among America’s Best Nursing Homes 2025 by Newsweek, maintains a Five-Star Overall rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and is accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation’s most respected healthcare standards-setting body.

Woodbine is also notable for its scale: it holds Virginia’s largest licensed skilled nursing capacity, making it a critical resource for families across the region seeking high-quality care.

Backed by Innovation and Compassion

Woodbine is supported by Marquis Health Consulting Services, a Brick, N.J.–based company that partners with skilled nursing and senior living communities across the East Coast. Marquis’ philosophy, “Care, Anew,” emphasizes innovation, compassion, and purpose-driven service. The company’s programs bring cutting-edge, clinician-led specialty care models and comfort-driven amenities to the facilities it supports.
