Join ALIVE! on Sunday, October 19 for the 44th Annual StepALIVE! Walkathon

ALEXANDRIA, VA — ALIVE!’s 44th Annual StepALIVE! Walkathon returns on Sunday, October 19 with the goal of raising $100,000 to support Alexandria families in need. With a new starting point at George Washington Middle School and two scenic new walking routes through Old Town (5 miles) and Del Ray (5k), this year’s StepALIVE! is a celebration of the neighborhoods, businesses, and congregations that power ALIVE!’s mission.

Schedule:

  • 12:00 PM – Onsite Registration & T-Shirt Pick-Up
  • 2:00 PM – Walk Kickoff
  • 2:30 PM – Post-Walk Celebration

Registration Fees:

  • $25 Individual Walker ($30 onsite)
  • $10 Children Ages 6–13
  • Free for Children Under 6

Online registration is open until Saturday, October 18 at midnight. Miss the deadline? No problem—onsite registration is available until October 19.

Each month, ALIVE! supports more than 20,000 Alexandrians with essential services including groceries, housing stabilization, and emergency financial assistance. By walking, sponsoring, or donating, you’re helping your neighbors move toward stability and security. Help us raise $100,000 to support Alexandria families in need. Together, we can take a step toward ending food and housing insecurity—one step at a time.

Jane Collins

Jane Hess Collins is a communications consultant and coach, and holds a masters’ degree in Public Relations & Corporate Communications from Georgetown University. She is the founder and executive director of Heard, an Alexandria-based nonprofit that teaches life skills disguised as art to underserved populations. She retired from the United States Air Force in 2009.
