Alexandria, VA – Families across the Mount Vernon area are invited to kick off the summer at the 2nd Annual Summer Palooza, hosted by Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck, on Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Governmental Center.

The free, family-friendly event will feature live music from Highway Legends, complimentary food, and a petting zoo with animals from Frying Pan Farm Park. Attendees can also explore exhibits focused on dogs, the environment, county resources, local businesses, and America’s upcoming 250th anniversary celebrations.

Children can enjoy a dedicated kids zone with arts activities, bounce houses, and touch-a-truck attractions throughout the day.

Organizers say the event is designed to bring the community together for an afternoon of fun, entertainment, and local engagement.

Summer Palooza will take place rain or shine. Parking will be available at Whitman Middle School and Sherwood Regional Library, with assistance from the Fairfax County Police Department for pedestrian road crossings.
