Jenny Waters Named Museum Director at Lee-Fendall House Museum and Garden

Alexandria, VA – This isn’t simply good news. It’s standing ovation news! Jenny Waters joined the Old Town museum team the summer of 2022 as the Collections Management Intern. She was then promoted to Collections Assistant that fall, rising to the Collections Manager by summer 2023.
Since becoming a full-time staffer Waters has launched the WWII Walking Tour, the Wine & Art Night spring fundraiser, and has curated three special exhibitions, including the current At Home with Henry “Light Horse Harry” Lee on exhibit through 2026.
David Heiby, Treasurer of the Virginia Trust for Historic Preservation, which owns and operates the museum, sings Waters’ praises: “Jenny took the helm during a difficult transition and turned this museum around. In just over a year, she grew membership by 38 percent, secured new funding, and built a stronger team that draws new volunteers and interns to Lee-Fendall. Jenny is a huge asset to this museum, and her promotion to Museum Director is fully deserved. I couldn’t be more excited to see what she does next.”
On Exhibit couldn’t agree more. If you haven’t been to the Lee-Fendall House Museum and Garden lately you haven’t been to Lee-Fendall. Meet Jenny at the upcoming Corks and Corridors fundraiser on August 29. Attendees will be served Governor’s Cup Gold Medal-winning Prince Michel wines. Experience curated tastings by the winery staff while enjoying a special guided tour of the historic home. Tickets are available at eventbrite.com.
