Ready for Flu Season? Giant Food Offers Vaccine at All Pharmacy Locations
ALEXANDRIA, VA – Giant Food announced early this afternoon that Alexandria residents can visit any of their pharmacies to receive the influenza vaccine. No appointment is necessary, and the vaccine is covered all or in part by most insurance providers. Giant has certified pharmacists on-site.
“COVID-19 has presented challenges that we have not encountered before, and medical professionals around the world advise that getting the annual your flu shot is of vital importance to your health and wellness during this global pandemic,” said Paul Zvaleny, Giant Food Director of Pharmacy Operations.
Pharmacists can also administer other vaccines during a visit. These include tetanus, pneumonia, and shingles. Age restrictions for the flu shot vary by state. Ask for details.
Standard flu shots as well as the high dose vaccine for customers over the age of 64 are available. Pharmacists can recommend and administer the appropriate immunizations based on individual needs.
As part of Giant’s ongoing effort to support the health of customers,everyone who receives their flu shot will be offered complimentary vaccination reviews. These short questionnaires, facilitated by Giant’s pharmacists, ask about any missing vaccinations.
