ALEXANDRIA, VA – A little rain is not stopping the 41st Annual Patrick’s Day Parade in Old Town Alexandria today, March 2.  The town crier will soon be shouting, “Hear Ye! Hear Ye!” as thousands of people in parade groups from six divisions make their way down King Street toward Lee Street, where they turn and finish up on Cameron.

Anxious participants from near and far have been tuned to the weather station, and starting up at the skies hoping it all comes to a stop as predicted just before parade time at 12:30 pm.

“It’s fine soft Irish ☘️ 🇮🇪 Day for Parade Day in Old Town Alexandria. Embrace the raindrops and let the soft Irish drizzle add a sprinkle of magic to your festivities. Dust off those brollies, grab your wellies, don your greenest attire and join us in the merry march through the streets of Old town for the 41st Alexandria St. Patrick’s Day Parade!” say parade organizers and hosts, The Ballyshaners.
