Local Female Hockey Players Clinch National Title
USA Hockey National Championship for Under 14 Girls
ALEXANDRIA, VA – They did it! Local young female hockey players helped clinch the USA Hockey National Championship title for their age group.
Crucial players of the winning team, local Alexandrian’s, Hanna Gunlycke, Maeve Donnelly, and Virginia Gilliam played their hearts out in Coral Springs, Florida this past weekend (April 2-6). Their hard work and extreme dedication paid off and they now are among the first-ever girls team from the DMV who have taken the title of 2025 Chipotle-USA Hockey Girls Tier II 14 U 1A National Championship. These national hockey champions, who come from all over the region, are a part of the under 14 team from the St. James in Springfield.
They sealed the deal beating the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers (PA) 2-0 to claim the national title.
