ALEXANDRIA, VA – The City of Alexandria invites the public to view a virtual remembrance on Friday September 11, to mark the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
The annual ceremony will be pre-recorded to avoid a large gathering and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The proceedings will honor those who died, including first responders who gave their lives to save others.
Ceremony video will be available at alexandriava.gov.
The tribute will feature remarks from Alexandria Mayor Justin Wilson, City Manager Mark Jinks, and representatives from the fire department, police department, and sheriff’s office.
The ringing of a bell signaling “Return to Quarters” is also scheduled to take place.
