URGENT: $50 Farm Market Fresh Cards Available for Eligible Alexandria Seniors

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Virginia’s Farm Market Fresh (Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program) is offering one $50 benefit card to eligible older adults to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and fresh-cut herbs from approved farmers’ markets and roadside stands. The program boosts senior nutrition and supports local farmers.

Who qualifies

• City of Alexandria residents

• Age 60+

• Monthly income at or below:

  • $2,413 for one person

  • $3,261 for two people

• Ready to enjoy more fresh fruits and veggies

Note: Participation is limited. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

How to apply

(Applications will not be available on-site at markets.)

• Online: Apply via the Farm Market Fresh application portal.

• In person: Alexandria Division of Aging & Adult Services, 4850 Mark Center Drive, 9th Floor, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

• By mail: Print and mail an application to the Division of Aging & Adult Services.

Where you can use the $50 card

• Seasonal pop-up market: September 16, 300 Wythe Street, 9 a.m.–12 p.m.

• Participating markets: Look for vendors displaying the “Farm Market Fresh” sign at:

  • McCutcheon–Mount Vernon

  • Annandale

  • Kingstowne Market

  • West End Market
