ALEXANDRIA, VA – School began yesterday for Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) students. While this year is considerably different because of the coronavirus pandemic, students still need essential supplies. ACPS is asking for community support. However, instead of donating physical items, they request that interested parties donate funds electronically.

Physical items cannot be accepted this year because of risk associated with the coronavirus.

Help is needed in three areas:

1) Virtual PLUS+ Basic Supply Kits

2) Internet Access Support

3) Virtual PLUS+ Donors Choose Teachers Request

Virtual PLUS+ Basic Supply Kits

This kit includes headphones and a whiteboard along with other supplies such as pencils, crayons, notebooks, and more. Each kit costs $20. To donate, click HERE.

Internet Access Support

By contributing, people can help students have access to the Virtual PLUS+ program. A $100 donation will fund the purchase of one Kajeet, a mobile wifi device for a student(s) without reliable internet access at home. A $35 donation supports a monthly data plan. All funds raised will be used to support technology access. To donate, click HERE.

Virtual PLUS+ Donors Choose Teachers Requests

Help teachers purchase supplies for their classrooms by donating HERE. Clicking on the webpage takes visitors to an interactive listing of specific classrooms in the ACPS community.
