Cool Yoga Returns to Del Ray on July 8

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Looking to get active? Want to improve your physical and mental well-being simultaneously?

Cool Yoga with Maureen Clyne returns July 8. Clyne is a senior Yoga instructor who works at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Old Town at 310 King Street. She created Cool Yoga seven years ago as a way to promote wellness in the Alexandria community. With over 20 years of experience, Clyne has led both studio sessions and teacher trainings both nationally and internationally.

“The classes are open to all levels – including beginners,” Clyne told The Zebra. I teach for the sheer joy of it and to share the amazing benefits of yoga with everyone.”

This is the eighth season of the free weekly classes. This time around, there are COVID-19 precautions in place  The classes are scheduled for every Wednesday until August 28 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. They will be held in the parking lot of Del Ray Psych & Wellness at 1900 Mount Vernon Avenue. In the event of rain, classes will be cancelled by 4:30 p.m.

Regarding the new safety precautions, each participant will be required to bring and wear a mask for the duration of the event. It is requested that participants also bring their own water bottle, mat, and towel. Mats will be spaced 10 feet apart. If children attend with their parent and are under 16 years of age, the parent must sign a waiver.
