Adopt a Pet in Alexandria: Meet Apollo

ALEXANDRIA, VA- Apollo is a 2-year-old male dog who weighs around 70 pounds. He is extremely social, friendly and outgoing with other people and dogs. He’s attended numerous events with us and has always been a well-behaved gentleman. According to AWLA, he is house trained as well. He knows the cue for sit and does wonderful on a leash. Thanks to Beyer Subaru, his adoption fee is waived in October. Beyer is covering the adoption fees for all dogs 40+ pounds in October.

The Alexandria Animal Academy

The Alexandria Animal Academy courses are crafted to teach pets and people to live better together. There are three different learning tracks – Confidence Building, Chill Out and Leash Reactivity – to choose from. The courses are 8-weeks long and include virtual coaching and tailored instruction from Beth Tumlin, our on-staff Behavior and Training Coordinator. You can find all the information here. Registration is open through October 15. Courses begin Sunday, October 20.

AWLA is located at 4101 Eisenhower Ave. Founded in 1946, the AWLA has supported and served as a resource for homeless animals.
