Environment Expo: Get Outdoors! Learn and Do!

Alexandria, VA — Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck invites you to participate in the 3rd Annual Mount Vernon District Environment Expo: Get Outdoors! Learn and Do! on Saturday, June 26, 2021, from 8 a.m. to noon at Fort Hunt Park, 8999 Fort Hunt Road.

This year’s event will be held in partnership with the National Park Service and will educate and inform local residents on environmental challenges that they face on a daily basis, including ones that are unique to the Mount Vernon area. Attendees will leave the Expo with simple actions they can take to make an impact on climate change and our environment.

This FREE Family Friendly Event will include: Exhibitors, Workshops, Live Music, Live Reptile and Owl Programs, Electric Vehicles, Nature Walks, Junior Ranger Program, Touch-a-Truck Recycling, History Tours, Purple Glass Monster (bring your glass recycling for drop off!) and more! Please share this information with your family, friends and neighbors! Unfortunately, the Food Trucks have been cancelled for this event and will not available on-site as previously announced.

Featured workshops include: Reptile Wonders, the Secret Garden Birds & Bees, NPS Junior Ranger Program, bird and meditation walks, history tours and more!

The Joe Chiocca Band will provide live music throughout the morning! 

This event will adhere to COVID-19 restrictions and protocols in place on June 26. In order to meet any outdoor event size limits, pre-registration is recommended.
