ALEXANDRIA, VA – Former Virginia State Delegate (2012 to 2016) and Alexandria City Councilman (2003–2012), Rob Krupicka has released 100 original poems in a new book called, Untangling Grace.

In a social media post this morning, Krupicka said he used poetry to work through things, think about life, and meditate on issues.

“It took a while, but I fell into routine of writing poems inspired by grace and the need for grace in life. Fast forward a few years and I had a good number of poems. Enough for a collection. Well, here it is. This project took close to five years in total to write, edit and then get the nerve up to publish.”

In the new self-published collection dedicated to his wife, Whitney, Krupicka focuses on five main topics set off in chapters: Presence, Life, Love, Stories, and Spirituality.

“I wrote these passages during a period in my life when I was dealing with significant personal change. My family was different, after a divorce. I found myself single and struggling to figure out relationships and friendships,” says Krupicka in the book’s introduction.

On top of that, he says, he was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder.  “Sorting through the treatment plan and lifestyle changes of that was and continues to take a concerted effort,” he adds.

Throw in the turbulent nature of today’s politics which he calls “vicious”, and you have the backdrop for Krupicka’s quest to write and share his words.

“With all this as a backdrop to my daily life, I became drawn to the simple idea of grace. Grace became a powerful concept in my life. Grace for others and myself, the later being the most challenging to find.”

Untangling Grace is available in paperback now for $12.95 on Amazon.
