Mount Vernon Plaza Post Office Moves to East Lee Avenue

Alexandria, VA – The move is finally complete. The new U.S. Post Office replacing the one long situated in Mount Vernon Plaza is open for business at 2923-A East Lee Avenue. It is in a small strip shopping center facing Richmond Highway. Rumors of the closing at Mount Vernon Plaza first surfaced in 2022 amid the drama of a lawsuit between the shopping center’s owners and the USPS, which has since been dropped.
