St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School to Continue Using Recreational Facilities at Ft. Ward Park

ALEXANDRIA,VA-Students from St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School have just been given three more years to use Ft. Ward Park for recreation. The school, which has used the property at 4401 Braddock Road since 2000, has been given exclusive access to the soccer field for school curriculum and athletic activities between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday from Sept. 1 to May 31. The agreement also allows SSSAS use of the tennis courts between 3:00 and 5:30 p.m. during the week. The school, which is paying the city more than $23,000 annually for the license extension, also gets first dibs on special activities and sporting events after getting a permit from the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities.
