Alexandria, VA – Looking for ways to get more involved with the community? Now is your chance! Apply to fill the vacancies in the City of Alexandria boards, commissions, and committees. All applicants must complete a personal data record form electronically no later than 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 15.

Applicants may only submit an application to one committee at a time. Choosing which committee to apply to may be a tough decision! From the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority, to the George Washington Birthday Celebration Committee, or the Public Health Advisory Commission, there are many options to consider.

Keep in mind that all applicants must not reside outside of the City of Alexandria unless a residency waiver is granted, and that city employees may not apply for vacancies on boards, committee or commissions that relate to the responsibilities of the department in which they are employed.

City council will act on these vacancies at the Oct. 22 city council meeting.
