Mount Vernon Springfield Chamber of Commerce Elects New Leadership; 3 Women Fill Positions

ALEXANDRIA, VA-To lead them in the new year, the Mount Vernon Springfield Chamber of Commerce (MVS) elected four new officers; three are women. The purpose of MVS is to support local businesses and promote economic growth in the area.

Eric Christensen, the GM of Springfield Town Center, is the chairman. Roberta Tinch, President & CEO of INOVA Mount Vernon Hospital is vice chair. Phylis Syntay with McEnearney Associates is secretary, and Indre Bauza with Supporting Strategies of Northern Virginia is treasurer.

“Our Chamber can look back on 2023 and take pride in our accomplishments.”  Christensen said. He pointed out that MVS “serves a diverse range of businesses” ranging from family-owned establishments to corporations.

During the most recent board meeting, the chairman mentioned the success of MVS-supported events such as the Chamber Golf Classic, the CAN the Bird 5K Turkey Trot, and the Police & Firefighters Tribute.

It is also worth noting that MVS gave 13 college scholarships to graduating high school seniors.

“The Chamber has successfully advocated for our members and the business community at both the County and State level,” he added. “We really have a lot to celebrate.”

In addition to the new officers, there are some new faces associated with the organization’s Board of Directors. They include Josefina Beck, Paul Dean, Marissa Eyon, Jamie Huban, Matt Moore, and Brian Moran.
