Civil War in 3-D Photography Lecture at Lyceum in Alexandria

Journey into the depths and dimensions of Civil War photography when historian and author Robert Zeller presents “The Grand Review: Discoveries & Explorations in Civil War Photography” at The Lyceum in Alexandria.  The lecture will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.  The lecture is free, but registration is required.

Mr. Zeller is the president of the Center for Civil War Photography, and a pioneer in the study of Civil War images in 3-D.  In his slide-illustrated lecture, Mr. Zeller will discuss recent discoveries in the field of Civil War photography, and new ways of examining some of the war’s photographic treasures, which are often filled with fascinating detail.  The audience will use 3-D glasses to experience some of these images the way they were originally taken and meant to be viewed.

Mr. Zeller’s book, Antietam in 3-D, will be available for sale in The Lyceum Shop.  The lecture is co-sponsored by the Friends of Fort Ward and the Alexandria Historical Society in cooperation with the Office of Historic Alexandria.
