Weichert Old Town Office Donates $2500 to UCM

Community News--Weichert donates to UCMMark Ackermann, manager of the Weichert, Realtors Alexandria/Old Town office, announced that his office donated $2,500 to United Community Ministries, an organization whose mission is to mobilize the power of community to equip, educate, and empower people to measurably improve their lives.

“As an office, we chose to donate our prize money from a Weichert sales incentive program to this worthwhile cause,” said Ackermann. “We are honored to have the opportunity to contribute to an organization that continues to make such a powerful impact in our community and to help make a difference for those in need.”

United Community Ministries (UCM) mobilizes the power of community to equip, educate, and empower people to measurably improve their lives.  For the past 46 years, UCM has provided a vital connection between people in need and the people committed to helping them thrive.  Services include immediate help for families and individuals in crisis, food, financial aid, and counseling, education and employment services such as job training and coaching, full-day early care and learning, ESL and citizenship classes, parental education, after-school programs and leadership training, engaging youth and families in broader social networks for success and overall helps people achieve stability. In Fiscal Year 2014, thanks to generous community support, UCM provided life-changing assistance in the Alexandria portion of Fairfax County to more than 11,000 individuals in 4,152 families.
