First premiered by the composer himself as soloist, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 is considered among the most challenging in the piano repertoire. Prior to Saturday’s performance, a special pre-concert chat will feature Rachmaninoff’s great-granddaughter, Natalie Wanamaker Javier, a Rachmaninoff scholar, Francis Crociata, a representative from the Library of Congress, and Maestro Ross. On Sunday, Maestro Ross and Ms. Prjevalskaya will chat about the preparation required to perform the piano concerto. Saturday’s talk begins at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday’s talk begins at 2:15 p.m.

Single-ticket prices range from $20 to $80 for adults, and there are $5 youth and $10 student tickets. Military, senior and group discounts are also available. Free parking provided by the ASO at both venues. To order tickets and for more information, visit www.alexsym.org or call (703) 548-0885.
