FOX 5 Will Broadcast Live from Alexandria Friday—And You’re Invited

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Alexandria residents have a chance to be part of a live television audience this Friday when FOX 5 brings its popular Zip Trips summer series to Old Town.

The station will broadcast live from Waterfront Park from 7 to 11 a.m. on Friday, June 5, highlighting Alexandria’s businesses, attractions, community leaders, and upcoming events. The morning-long broadcast is part of FOX 5’s annual tradition of visiting communities across the Washington region during the summer months.

More than a dozen live segments are planned throughout the morning, featuring local businesses, city officials, first responders, and tourism representatives. Scheduled guests include Sarah Bagley, members of the Alexandria Police and Fire Departments, and representatives from Visit Alexandria.

The broadcast is being coordinated with Visit Alexandria and the City of Alexandria and is expected to showcase many of the experiences that make the city a popular destination for visitors and residents alike.

FOX 5 will also spotlight two major international and national events converging in Alexandria this June. The city is preparing to host the Croatian National Football Team during the 2026 FIFA World Cup and is gearing up for the Free World Cup Celebration in Alexandria, planned for Croatia, to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.

Community members are encouraged to attend the live broadcast and help represent Alexandria on regional television. FOX 5 says the morning is designed to be a fun, family-friendly celebration of the host community, complete with live interviews, local personalities, and plenty of hometown pride.
